Fourth Meeting of the Seine-Scheldt Committee in Brussels (Belgium)
Presentation of the Seine-Scheldt Project to the European Commission's TEN-T Committee
Two days ahead of an important presentation to TEN-T Financial Committee, composed of representatives of the European Commission and of EU Member States, a separate meeting of the Seine-Scheldt Committee took place to coordinate the contributions of our members and to further develop the outline of a joint and concerted approach.
On 4 May, François Gauthey, Nicolas Bour (VNF) and Willem van Crombrugge (Waterwegen en Zeekanaal NV) represented the Seine-Scheldt Committee, and offered a comprehensive and detailed update on the Project to all members of the TEN-T Committee. This presentation was an excellent opportunity to show that the Project is progressing well, and to emphasise its various positive implications, primarily for countries involved, but to a broader extent for the EU in its entirety. The presentation ended with a series of questions and answers with the representatives of the European Commission.
